Sometimes the tiniest mosquito bite can lead to severe and life-threatening consequences. Such a tiny bite of an Aedes mosquito turned the life upside down of Rajat, a 33-year-old man from an interior town in Rajasthan. The little but lethal bite wreaked havoc, & he found himself in the grip of another life-threatening illness, dengue infection, after surviving COVID. With severe weakness, dizziness, & dehydration, he was rushed to Zydus Hospitals & was under the supervision of Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Nimit Shah. But with the visible signs of decreased oxygen levels and deteriorating kidney function, he was taken to the ICU and kept on ventilator support under the care of Dr. Amit Patel, a Critical Care Specialist. To make matters worse, Rajat began to bleed from his nasal passages, throat, & gastrointestinal tract. The planning of Zydus Hospitals' Hematologist, Dr. Nidhi Jain, & Sr. ENT Surgeon, Dr. Lav Selarka, controlled bleeding & reduced the danger of infections. However, the continued bleeding and dark tarry stool plainly suggested upper GI tract bleeding, necessitating the consultation of Dr. Hardik Kotecha, Sr. Gastroenterologist, & Infectious Disease Specialist, Dr. Ketan Patel. Dr. Devang Patwari, Sr. Nephrologist, was also called in to help Rajat with his deteriorating kidneys During his 21-day stay in the ICU, the exceptional team of super specialists meticulously devised a plan to meet his dialysis routine. He was given 64 blood product supplementation amidst constantly deteriorating kidney, liver, & platelet levels. Gradually, signs of improvement emerged and he was taken off ventilator and started producing urine so didn't require dialysis. With improvement in his clinical state, he was transferred to a regular ward for physical therapy assisted rehabilitation. A critical care Physiotherapist and her team’s intense physical therapy assisted in his rehabilitation & complete recovery. Surviving a rare and severe dengue with a 50% mortality rate would not have been possible without Rajat's unwavering perseverance & the meticulous team work of the Super Specialists at the Zydus Hospital.

I always had a betel nut in my mouth. It had become more of a habit, helping me stay awake and relaxed amidst day-to-day chaos. But then, one day, chaos began. A chaos in which no nut could keep me calm. The chaos began inside my body. I began to struggle with daily activities, coughed frequently with white mucus, and had difficulty breathing. Over the course of seven months, I visited several hospitals, consulted numerous doctors, and received treatment for asthma and gastroesophageal reflux disease. However, there were no signs of improvement. My family insisted on a more advanced evaluation, so we visited Zydus Hospitals. At Zydus Hospitals, I was immediately taken for a High-Resolution CT scan of my chest. The scan revealed signs of bronchitis-bronchiolitis, which suggested tuberculosis. However, still unsure about the underlying cause of my mysterious respiratory distress, the doctors referred me to a team of specialists. I was referred to Dr Manoj Singh, a Pulmonologist & Critical care specialist. Upon closer inspection, the specialist discovered a mysterious lesion obstructing airflow in my right main bronchus (the passageway connecting the windpipe and the lungs). It turned out to be a betel nut that I had accidentally aspirated a year earlier, causing chronic respiratory distress and inflammation. Without further delay, the team of specialists at Zydus Hospitals carefully and precisely removed the betel nut from my bronchus. After being discharged from the hospital, I was prescribed bronchodilators and anti-inflammatory medication, which significantly reduced my respiratory distress and resolved the inflammation in my lungs. This unusual case serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough evaluation and careful management of patients with mysterious and persistent medical issues. It also highlights the expertise and skill of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Team at Zydus Hospital. #MedicalMysterySolved #RespiratoryDistress #Pulmonologist #CriticalCare #ZydusHospitals #UnusualMedicalCase #BetelNutInhalation #ChronicBronchitis #LungInflammation #MedicalExpertise #HealthcareSuccess #PatientRecovery #MedicalEvaluation #Bronchodilators

A would-be-mother and her husband recently traveled to Zydus Hospitals from Bhuj seeking medical help. Two obstetricians in Bhuj had given them a grim prognosis, stating that there was a risk to the life of both the mother and the baby. Hearing about Dr. Namita Shah, our Gynecologist & High-risk Pregnancy Obstetrician, they promptly sought her expertise. The patient presented with severe thrombocytopenia at full term, experiencing early labor pains. In addition, she had a history of a previous cesarean section and abnormal liver function, identified through tests recommended by Dr. Namita. Despite receiving platelet transfusions, her platelet count remained around 20,000, posing a significant risk to her life. With help from Haematologist Dr. Dilip Srinivasan, who was involved due to low platelet count, and Gastroenterologist Dr. Hardik Kotecha, who was involved due to abnormal liver function test results, the combined efforts of the OT team and Anesthesia specialists, comprehensive care was provided. Dr. Namita performed an emergency cesarean section, and a healthy baby was safely delivered under the supervision of Dr. Anita Srinivasan, our Neonatologist. Mother and child were recommended to stay in the Critical Care unit for one-day post-operation under Dr. Pratibha's and her team's observation. Following that, they could return home to Bhuj, with healthy mother and baby, much to the joy of their family. #HighRiskPregnancy #GynecologistAndObstetrician #Thrombocytopenia #CesareanSection #HealthyBaby #Neonatologist #Haematologist #Gastroenterologist #CriticalCare #GratefulPatients #MedicalJourney #MedicalMiracle #ExpertCare #Teamwork #HealthyRecovery #JoyfulHomecoming #WomenHealthcare #HealthCare #ComprehensiveCare #StayHealthy #BestHospitalinAhmedabad #Zydus #ZydusCare #ZydusExperts #ZydusHospitals #ZydusHospitalsAhmedabad #Ahmedabad #Gujarat
