Baby Shanvi was just over a year old when she fell ill with a fever and cough. Her parents assumed it was a viral illness and waited for her to recover. However, her condition worsened, and she developed viral pneumonia, which eventually progressed to a lung abscess. Worried about her lack of improvement, her parents rushed her to the ER at Zydus Hospitals, where she arrived in critical condition. Our skilled pediatric surgeon, Dr. Parthiv Shah, and Dr. Ankit Mehta, our Pediatrician & Critical Care Specialist, quickly assessed her condition and recommended right lower lobectomy surgery. The procedure was successful, and Shanvi was discharged after a recovery period. In addition, the parents, knowing that other families in similar situations could benefit from their experience, helped make an awareness video for pediatric surgery and the PICU department of the hospital. We wish Shanvi a healthy and happy future, and we are honored to have been a part of her journey to recovery.
