Celebrating the Unyielding Zest for Life! At Zydus, we always believe in offering a better quality of life. Recently, an 89-year-old patient sought our care for complaints of knee pain and discomfort while walking, and acute arthritis. He consulted our esteemed Knee Replacement Surgeon, Dr. Samir Nanavati who presented him with surgery as an option. He zealously came forward and agreed to undergo total knee replacement. The prospect of surgery at his age would deter most people, but not him. Furthermore, it was performed on the day of his 90th birthday. The successful procedure showed terrific results and he could start walking from that day itself. Glimpses of the video affirm the same. On his follow-up on the 16th day after surgery, he refused to use the wheelchair. Instead, he opted to walk up to Dr. Nanavati’s cabin. Presently, he is also considering total knee replacement for his other knee. We applaud his zeal to enjoy a better quality of life and see him as a source of inspiration. At Zydus, we always encourage natural healing. On this special day dedicated to physiotherapists, we would like to share Ronak Vasudeva’s inspiring journey. He suffered from a traumatic cervical spine injury that left him completely bedridden (muscle power was 0/5) in all four limbs and trunks. During his hospitalization, he underwent limb and chest physiotherapy along with robotic rehabilitation. He was not aware of robotic physiotherapy but was quite supportive while practicing the same. The journey was not easy for him but the continued improvement was a big motivation. With the dedication of the entire team, Ronak went from being completely bedridden to walking with minimal support. These videos show us his remarkable cooperation and his continued progress. His muscle power rating also bettered to 3/5 (contraction against gravity only). It brings us immense joy to see him walk through recovery when he visits us for his remaining sessions. The elaborate scientific program spreads over 3 days from 1st to 3rd June 2023. Over 300 Surgeons from all over India and overseas are attending this event to enrich & exchange their knowledge.
