Mrs. Shamim had been suffering from severe Osteo Arthritis of both Knee Joints, this not only made her movement restricted but also added to the dependency on family and friends. Mrs. Shamim has always been a super active person but her Osteo Arthritic condition crippled her. Finally she decided to get herself a new pair of Knees. She traveled all alone from Dar-es-salam, with no caregivers to assist she put her 100% trust in Dr. Daria Singh & Dr. Kalpesh (Dept. of Joint Replacement Surgery) and the International Relations team at Zydus, Ahmedabad which had been communicating with her family in Tanzania and Kenya constantly updating them.
It's been over 4 weeks that she is back in the comfort of her home after spending 15 days at Zydus Hospital (which she also refers to as her extended family in Ahmedabad). She visited our Medical Clinic in Dar-es-salam recently. Walking with effortless ease and telling her friends and patients at the clinic "Zydus has not changed just my Knees, but my Life". She fondly remembers the 8th floor nursing staff, attendants, physio team members and all the patients from East Africa in the hospital who have been bonded, they interact, talk, share experiences and above all miss Ahmedabad remembering the food, shopping and tuk-tuks.
