A gem cutter must have sharp eyes to cut a perfect diamond, but I vividly remember that Monday when I couldn't see clearly and felt dizzy. I knew something was wrong when my head began to ache & my hands began to shake, which had never happened before. I was taken right away to the doctor.
Upon regaining my senses, I learned that I had suffered a brain stroke. I had limited hip movement due to extensive muscle inflammation in the muscles connecting the lower back and upper leg.
Following my brain stroke, I underwent two brain surgeries. However, the surgeries led to the formation of a new unwanted bone, causing total loss of hip movement.
My concerned father sought numerous opinions from doctors in different cities. We even consulted doctors in Surat and Mumbai but were not satisfied with the outcomes. That's when one of our relatives recommended Zydus Hospitals. We went immediately to Zydus Hospitals, where I had a CT scan. The scan indicated that I had large muscle inflammation near my right hip, measuring about 30 * 6 * 5 cm.
Although Dr. Yatin Desai, Sr. Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon at Zydus Hospitals, advised that the outcome might not be satisfactory, my father remained optimistic & insisted on proceeding with the surgery.
I underwent surgery, where a bone block measuring 8 * 7 * 6 cm was removed from the front of the hip joint capsule. The surgery resulted in a significant improvement in hip movement. The foresighted doctor & his team also planned to provide radiation treatment to prevent the inflammation from recurring.
