AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is the late stage of #HIV infection that occurs when the body's #immune system is badly damaged because of the #virus. In India around 2.1 million people are living with HIV. During the last decade, new infections declined by 27% and AIDS-related deaths more than halved, falling by 56%. But there is still a long way to go. On this World AIDS Day, let us take a pledge to educate, protect and test against HIV/AIDS.
